Arsenal news and gossip is coming in thick and fast and Sportarena is on hand to bring you all the very latest from Emirates stadium.

Arsenal and Spur set to battle it out for Milan midfielder Franck Kessie

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to battle it out to sign AC Milan’s £45million midfielder Franck Kessie.

The 23-year-old powerful midfielder has been one of the stand-out players in Milan’s excellent start to the Serie A table, which sees them sit five points clear of city rivals Inter at the top after 10 matches.

And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato report both north London rivals are interested in Kessie, whose current San Siro contract runs through until June 2022.

Milan value Kessie in the region of £40m-£45million but are keen to tie him down to a new contract as quickly as possible.

AC Milan’s surprise start to the season after years of underachievement has seen Kessie’s value pretty much double from around the £23m mark back in the summer, according to the report.

He has formed an impressive midfield partnership with Ismael Bennacer, the Algerian who came through Arsenal’s youth ranks but made only one first-team appearance.

Kessie has scored four goals and chipped in with three assists in 17 matches so far this season and the north London sides believe he has the necessary attributes to cope with the Premier League games.

Mesut Ozil is 90 per cent likely to join Fenerbahce in January transfer window

Mesut Ozil has a “90 per cent’ chance of leaving Arsenal to join Turkish side Fenerbahce in January transfer window.

The Gunners playmaker, still being paid £350,000 per week, has been frozen out at the Emirates after Mikel Arteta chose not to include him in his Premier League or Europa League squads.

Arsenal have been desperate to shed Ozil’s massive wage from their books and his contract expires next summer but he may end up moving in January.

One of Fenerbahce’s club congress members, Murat Zorlu, claims that the club have a very high chance of securing Mesut Ozil next year.

He told Sport Digitale: “A source, who’s very well connected to the club has told me that Mesut Ozil is likely to become a Fenerbahce player during the next transfer window.

“I would say 90 per cent he will join us in one month.”

Mesut Ozil has not played for Mikel Arteta’s side since March 7 and a move to Turkey appears to make sense for all parties, although the midfielder would have to take a pay cut.

Arsenal team news ahead of Dundalk clash

Arsenal will be hoping to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat in the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, when they face Dundalk for their final group stage match in the Uefa Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Gunners have already won the group so are likely to field a weakened side against the Irish side, who have lost all five of its Group B matches.

There could be opportunities for the likes of Folarin Balogun and Emile Smith Rowe as Mikel Arteta prepares to give his first team stars a rest.

But the Arsenal manger Mikel Arteta still has a number of other injury concerns at the moment too so here is a round-up of those currently sidelined.

Thomas Partey

The Ghanaian, 27, has returned to the starting line-up against Tottenham, having not played since the start of November.

The Ex-Atletico Madrid star had picked up a thigh injury prior to the last international break so has been forced to watch on from the sidelines over the past few weeks.

The Gunners Fans were delighted to see him make his return over the weekend – only for him to limp off in first half stoppage time.

It is unclear the exact nature of the injury but Thomas Partey appeared to be in some pain and it’s certain he won’t be risked against Dundalk.

‘He is injured and it is in the same area. Unfortunately we don’t know how bad it is, said Mikel Arteta.

Gabriel Martinelli

The talented 19-year-old forward has been on the club’s injury list since June after suffering a left knee injury during training.

The club says he is now integrating into squad sessions but the games this week are likely to come too soon for the Brazilian starlet.

With that said, Gabriel Martinelli is aiming to participate in an under-23s match before the end of December as he steps up his recovery.
