The Reds lost 1-0 to the newcomers on Saturday and league leaders, Arsenal was held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on the other hand recorded a comfortable 3-1 win over Brighton Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium.
