Every Chelsea player available to Frank Lampard ahead of the Premier League clash against Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea can make it 13 games unbeaten across all competitions when they face Leeds United tonight.
After a mixed start to the new season for the west London outfit, they have emerged as potential challengers to Liverpool’s Premier League crown and can move top of the table, albeit for 24 hours, with a victory tonight.
However, Chelsea are facing a Leeds side that scored three times at Anfield on the opening weekend of the campaign and attempted a combined total of 48 shots in their last two games against Arsenal (25) and Everton (23).
Given the Blues’ attacking options, it could be an end-to-end game and head coach Frank Lampard is expecting his defence to be put to the test against Marcelo Bielsa side’s dangerous attack.
I think it will be a big test for us. If you analyse Leeds, they are not an easy team to analyse but when you just look at the stats and there’s lots of shots and they have scored goals against top teams, pretty much anyone,” Lampard said in his pre-match press conference.
“They create a lot so we will have to be at our absolute best in terms of concentration and have togetherness with how we defend
It will be a huge test against Leeds because they are one of the most dangerous teams in the league.”
The Blues will go into the game at Stamford Bridge with the knowledge that every single first-team player is fit and available for selection, thus presenting Lampard with a dream scenario.
“Yes, everyone’s fit,” he told reporters.
As a result, Thiago Silva could return to the starting XI after being rested for Wednesday night’s 4-0 win over Sevilla which secured top spot in their Champions League group.
In addition to the Brazilian, Olivier Giroud is pushing for his first start in the Premier League this season after netting all four goals against the La Liga side, while Ben Chilwell, Mason Mount, and Timo Werner are in line for recalls.
And with that in mind, Lampard has plenty of options to choose from against Leeds.
