Rob Holding says there are no issues between David Luiz and Dani Ceballos despite the pair’s reported fallout in training.
An Athletic report emerged during the week that the Gunners pair had clashed in training but claimed the pair made up promptly and that training resumed as normal afterwards.
Arsenal teammate Holding has confirmed as much, saying there is no lasting issue.
“It’s just competitive training, that’s all we want it to be,” Holding told Sky Sports. “We want it to be match-like, you’ve got to train as if it’s a match.
“Everything that happened was just competitive tackling and just a bit of competitiveness with the boys, which I think is not a problem at all.”
Arsenal legend Martin Keown agreed with that sentiment, telling talkSPORT: “It’s never nice to see it but Arsenal lost that game against Villa heavily and maybe there is a little bit of a problem within the camp and sometimes people get fraught with one another.
“There’s a fighting spirit there. You won’t want it to happen too often.
“If it did happen, it wouldn’t be unusual. These things happen. You need to keep everyone together and Arteta needs to be on top of it.”
Both Ceballos and Luiz will hope to be involved when Arsenal take on Leeds United in their first outing since the international break on Sunday.
